Kate has safely returned to Hekima Place!

Kate has safely returned home to Hekima Place after sharing incredible updates with you all over the past two months. Kate was welcomed home with smiling faces and big hugs. She also met the newest additions to the Hekima Place family as three girls came to live with us while she was in the US.

We want to thank you all for your support as we close out 2022. This year has been incredible for us as the Hekima Place family has grown at an unprecedented rate and we are so happy that we are able to open our doors to the girls in need. We wouldn’t be able to provide the critical services we do without our faithful supporters like you and we are truly blessed to have you as part of the Hekima family.

If you missed seeing Kate on her trip this year, don’t worry! Kate will be returning to the US in February. Be sure to follow us on our social media accounts or check out our website for updates! Interested in meeting with Kate, contact Laura Bright at lbright@hekimaplace.org for assistance.

Our Home!

Since our last newsletter, so many wonderful things have happened and we can’t wait to share with you!

Joy, Abigail, Blessing, and Shantel took their first steps on their journey to becoming Christians. We are so proud of each girl and are so happy we are here to support them as they embark on this wonderful journey!

As special surprise, many of the girls enjoyed an exciting day as they rode a train for the very first time! The trip was to Susswa, a place in the neighboring county of Narok, as they explored their new surroundings. The girls had a blast with this new experience and they spent the day playing together and enjoying snacks.

As the Hekima Place family prepared for Kate’s return home and to celebrate Christmas, the girls loved showing off their new, colorful hair! Watching the girls light up with excitement makes our hearts swell!

This month finished off with a wonderful celebration for Christmas. The girls received new dresses and were excited to show them off at church though the most important part of the celebration was being together.

Our School!

The 2022 school year was quite a busy one as the students studied hard to catch up from the previous years when COVID-19 shut down the world. As a result of this, the school term was condensed beginning in April instead of January and completed in December. The students worked so hard as the continued their educational journey and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.

We have so much to celebrate as many students reached a new milestone as they advanced to the next stage of learning. Just a few weeks ago, Hekima Place held a graduation for the students of PP2 (Primary Play 2) and sixth grade! We are so proud and excited for each and every student. Their dedication and commitment to their education is incredible.

We are so thankful to you for your support over the years to make this possible. With your help, Hekima Hills Learning Centre would not be possible and we are forever grateful for you!
